We will address the secondary law initiatives to establish the new legal regime on energy matters, proposed by the President of the Republic under the 2024 constitutional reform, having the scope to regulate the electricity and hydrocarbon sectors, among other relevant aspects that are provided for in said initiatives for each sector.
We will examine the participation schemes of individuals in the energy sector, pointing out the possible opportunities, limitations and coexistence with the Federal Electricity Commission (“CFE”) and Petróleos Mexicanos (“PEMEX”). We will analyze what refers to the new nature of CFE and PEMEX, and its implications.
We will talk about legislation regarding energy transition, new regulation, commitments, elements for its development and achievement of goals, as well as relevant aspects for biofuels and geothermal energy. We will discuss the new structure and powers of the authorities and entities of the Energy Sector. Likewise, we will discuss the most relevant potential changes in the procedures with them.
In general, we will comprehensively address the imminent changes, challenges and opportunities that will be generated after the implementation of the new legal regime for the energy sector.
