PMP CENACE preliminary report
PMP CENACE preliminary report

Today, the National Center of Energy Control (“CENACE”) published the preliminary report on the Maximum Power Price corresponding to the 2023 production year.

In this report, CENACE indicates that the Estimated Closing Power Price has a factor of 2.0 for the three Interconnected Systems (i.e. National Interconnected System, Baja California Interconnected System, and Baja California Sur Interconnected System). This would result in a Maximum Power Price of approximately 5 million pesos/MW-year.

It is important to mention that the report published today by CENACE was prepared with the preliminary information available in the first days of January 2024. The inputs and final results shall be published in the coming days. However, this exercise can give us a good idea of what the scenario looks like in the final report, since the data in the final report does not usually have significant variations concerning the preliminary report. Those who would be affected by this increase would be the qualified users exposed to the prices of the Market for the Balance of Power.
