On January 21, 2024, the procedure for renewal in the registry of Specialized Service Providers or Specialized Works ("REPSE") was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, in accordance with Article 15 of the Federal Labor Law. According to this article, individuals or legal entities providing specialized services or carrying out specialized works must be registered with the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare ("STPS" for its acronym in Spanish).

It is important to note that the STPS created and put into operation an on-line platform to obtain the REPSE as of May 25, 2021.

The REPSE renewal must be carried out within a period of three years as of the date of initial registration. It is essential to remember that the renewal process can be initiated three months prior to the expiration of the initial registration, according to the following schedule:

It is crucial to comply with these deadlines to avoid the cancellation of the registration. Failing to renew within the established period, the registration will be cancelled, and potential labor, social security, and tax effects and contingencies may be triggered. This decree shall enter into force the day following its publication, this is, on February 22, 2024.
